Asako Zavertajeva-Onishi & Mihhail Zavertajeva

After meeting in the UK, Asako and Mihhail migrated to Queensland in 2018. Asako works in the Moreton Bay region as a Special Education Music Teacher, while Mihhail is the Group General Manager for an award-winning hospitality company in Brisbane’s Bayside region.

While living in Brisbane, Asako and Mihhail - originally from Japan and Estonia respectively - have enjoyed spending time with their dog Maya, going to local markets and finding new hiking trails.

Asako’s key advice for new migrants moving to Queensland is to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.
