Extension and renewal applications – Business

Applicants who are interested in applying for an extension of their subclass 188 or subclass 405 visa, must first apply for a Queensland state nomination.

Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) – 
Business Innovation Extension stream 

To apply for a Queensland state nomination, please contact Migration Queensland and provide the following information:

    • Your full name
    • Date of birth
    • Current Australian visa
    • Evidence that you have continued to hold your complying significant investment in accordance with the complying investment framework in place at the time you applied for this visa.

If you meet the requirements, Migration Queensland will contact you for more information and to request payment of the application fee.

Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) – 
Significant Investor Extension stream 

To apply for a Queensland state nomination, please contact Migration Queensland and provide the following information:

    • Your full name
    • Date of birth
    • Current Australian visa
    • Evidence that you have continued to hold your complying significant investment in accordance with the complying investment framework in place at the time you applied for this visa.

If you meet the requirements, Migration Queensland will contact you for more information and to request payment of the application fee.

Renewal – Investor Retirement visa (subclass 405) 

If you were granted a subclass 405 visa after 8 May 2018, you may be eligible to apply for a renewal every 4 years.

To apply for a Queensland state nomination, please contact Migration Queensland and provide the following information:  

  • Your full name
  • Date of Birth
  • Current Australian visa

An applicant may be able to access a pathway to permanent residency if, on 8 May 2018: 

  • you held a Retirement (subclass 410) or Investor Retirement (subclass 405) visa, or
  • your last substantive visa was a Retirement (subclass 410) or Investor Retirement (subclass 405) visa.
