Apply online – Business

Program update

Migration Queensland continues to assess and process second stage (subclass 888) applications.

To apply for a Queensland nomination for a Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) visa (subclass 888), please follow the steps below.

To apply for an extension of your subclass 188 or subclass 405 visa, please visit Extension and renewal applications - Business.

Step 1 - Review the eligibility criteria, visa conditions, and document checklist

Review the eligibility criteria, visa conditions, and document checklist for your permanent visa (subclass 888) application:

Ensure you meet both criteria and have all your documents ready before you apply.

Step 2 - Register your interest

Register your interest in a Queensland nomination directly with Migration Queensland.

Step 3 - Migration Queensland selects and invites candidates

We will select and invite candidates throughout the financial year.

Step 4 - If you are invited, submit your application

If selected, you’ll be invited to submit your application through the online portal. You can access the online portal via the link in your invitation email.  

Please review the document checklist relevant to your visa stream:

  • Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) visa (subclass 888) – Business Innovation stream
  • Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) visa (subclass 888) – Investor stream
  • Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) visa (subclass 888) – Significant Investor stream  
  • Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) visa (subclass 888) – Entrepreneur stream

Step 4 - Payment

When you have uploaded your documents to the document portal, you must pay the non-refundable application fee to Migration Queensland. 

Migration Queensland will review your application and may request more information.

Note :

You will be given 14 days to finalise your application from the date of invitation. If you are unable to provide the relevant information within this timeframe, you must seek an extension from Migration Queensland. Applications not finalised within the timeframe will be closed and applicants will need to submit a new application.

Step 5 - Lodge your application

Once you are nominated by Migration Queensland, you will receive a signed copy of the Department of Home Affairs Form 1414 to lodge with your visa application. You will be given 90 days to lodge your application with the Department of Home Affairs. You must lodge your visa application before your provisional visa expires.
